Alvar Aalto Masterpiece: Maison Carré

Our author Giaime Meloni captured the Maison Carré by one of the masters of 20th century architecture, Alvar Aalto. Situated in the outskirts of Paris it was built 1959 as the private villa for art dealer and collector Louis Carré. Its’ combination of concrete, wood, brick and stone articulates the Finnish architects’ very own interpretation of modernity. The building, the garden, the interior design, the window frames and even the equistite details like the door handles are designed by Aalto: A modern »Gesamtkunstwerk«.
